Attack of the Killer Robot Swarm - Researchers at KMel Robotics at the GRASP Lab of the University of Pennsylvania (say that three time in a row …) have taught swarms of quad-copters to coordinate their movements.

Watching them in the video calls up very strange reactions for me: from the angry buzz of the swarm, to the machine precision of their movements, the spectacle is both fascinating and frightening at the same time. Combine this technology with today’s armed military drones, and whatever squishy lifeforms find themselves at the other side of that equation truly don’t stand a chance.
